Jumping into August

Well, let’s see. Last post was April. Now it is August already.
We’ve been doing “summer in NC” things which have already been documented in photos so I’ll just list & link here: finding parks; going to the beach; visiting an aquarium; hosting guests; visiting South Carolina; and mostly just playing in the yard. When not doing that stuff, we camp out inside our little cave (I mean house) and play computer games or watch DVDs. School supposedly starts in 2 weeks, but we haven’t gotten anything in the mail yet.
As a last minute, somewhat unplanned, short family vacation, we were able to spend this past weekend up at Lake Gaston. Papa Dave’s brother has a house there and was nice enough to host us. We had more fun than I thought we ( I ) would. I mean, they even got ME to jump off the top of the dock. Life jackets are handy things.
