6 more weeks of winter?

Whoops, missed a monthly posting. January seemed to fly right by!
Started off with a tractor lesson on the 1st, followed by my first attempt at plowing snow the week after. I’m getting better at it, but as I stated on twitter a while ago, the novelty is wearing off. Plus the logistics and timing (during Milo naps and a DVD for the big boys) is kind of hard. I think the rear blade that Dad put on during their last visit will help, but fortunately we haven’t had any heavy snows since then. *knock on wood*
Wiley lost his second front tooth quickly followed by another bottom tooth (he is symmetrical now) and he likes his new Kindergarten teacher but might be trying to “test” her about now. Cyrus and Milo like the playdoh set they got for xmas. I’m trying to limit DVDs as much as possible… there was even one day where they didn’t ask for one at all and finally I was like, don’t you guys want to watch something? Please??!!! My NetFlix queue has been overcome with kids’ movies, but Stew and I did get a good french farce one during his visit last weekend.
About mid-month our furnace went kaput. Coincidentally it was the night when temps got to below -20F… We were able to stay the night at Papa Dave’s, and the heating and cooling guy was able to fix it near midnight (ice chunk in the air intake pipe, whole pipe was replaced), but one ramification was Dave’s truck also decided to go kaput leaving him stranded at our place for a night (ended up being a bad fuel pump). The boys weren’t to upset about that… plus Papa Larry and Grandma Mary came up that same weekend. I got another lesson on the tractor, I got to go thrift shopping (sans kids!) and we baked oatmeal raisin cookies.
We all got together in Minden on the 31st, for a joint birthday cupcake feast. On Sunday, Stew, the boys and I, played with Papa Dave’s Wii (that sounds weird) before watching the first half of the Super Bowl. Stew is a good guy to have in your corner when you are boxing 3 rounds. Then Monday morning we all kissed and hugged him “see ya later”… hopefully the next 6 weeks or so goes just as fast. The groundhog apparently thinks we need more cold and snow.
