Shut-in Solstice

The boys and I haven’t left the property for going on 72 hours now.  We did go out to play in the new snow on Friday (no school), but yesterday and today have been far too bitter (an adjective used in our weather forecast).  “Ground blizzard conditions” with WNW winds gusting up to 45 mph, causing major blowing and drifting snow, with low visibility.  Not expected to let up until this evening, with the dangerous wind chills continuing through Monday morning.

Needless to say things are a bit stir crazy, plus we all have varying degrees of cold symptoms, with Milo and Cyrus the worse for wear.  Doesn’t slow them down at all though.

Stew plowed Friday night and made a short trip to Casey’s Saturday morning.  He apparently needs to go out now but I’d rather he not.  A few biting words later and he is out the door, free like a bird.  He needs caulk for the bathroom project.  I helped a little bit yesterday, we got more ceiling panels up and a light fixture.

So our solstice has not been very celebratory.  Here’s hoping for some xmas cheer…
